The Acting Kindly in School game gets players to practice random acts of kindness and playful deeds to spread joy, create new friendships and foster a cooperative atmosphere more conducive to high quality learning. It’s fun, creative and thoughtful, with teammates switching teams often to break down barriers and promote camaraderie. Best of all in the end…everyone wins!
How to Play…
MISSION: Spread joy by strengthening friendships, making new ones and creating lots of smiles.
GET READY: You’ll need paper, pencils/pens, art supplies, sticky notes and space to create and plan.
DEED CARDS: There are six types of deed card: Kindness, Greet, Play, Quest, Create and Plan.
SWITCH CARDS: When you draw a “Switch Teams” card…both players have to team up with someone they haven’t yet played with.
PEOPLE CARDS: When you draw a red people card then do next deed for someone as indicated.
WILD CARD: Be creative and make up your own good deed. It can be any deed type or even something totally new!
RASCAL CARDS: They slow you down a bit, but they’re lots of fun!
BLAST OFF: Form teams of two…each with an Acting Kindly in School deck. Shuffle cards and draw.
POINTS: Kindness, Greet and Play deeds are worth one point. Quests get two points. Create & Plan cards take more time so both get three points. Dealing with a Rascal is also worth one point!
SCORE: There’s one score for all points from all teams. Have a central score keeper either a person or a place where teams can tally the score on paper or blackboard when they complete a card.
DEED PLAY: Set a total number of points you want to gather from all the good deeds. Try multiplying 10, 20 or even 30 times the number of teams.
SPEED PLAY: Set a duration and see how many deeds everyone can do in that time. Speed play can be wild and wacky. Balance quantity and quality!
FINALE: In Deed Play when you reach the goal or in Speed Play when time’s up start chanting “Acting Kindly” until all teams have gathered together to shout…“Everybody Wins!”
